Wilderness Supply E-Newsletter November 9, 2010

We're firmly in November (though it may not always feel that way).  With this beautiful fall weather, there's tons of opportunities to get out and enjoy yourself --- and when the weather inevitably turns, there will be no shortage of winter activities to keep you busy!  So whether you're clinging to the above-zero temperatures, or frantically awaiting the first dusting of snow, we've got your gear.

Buy a Jacket, Win a Sleeping Bag!

Get set for cold weather before it happens with a new winter jacket from Wilderness Supply.  If a toasty warm torso isn't enough incentive, our Winnipeg store has decided to sweeten the deal: for a limited time, purchase a winter jacket and you will be entered to win a free The North Face Tundra sleeping bag! This down bag is rated below -25C, perfect for keeping warm during your cold-weather adventures.  Our draw-date is the first day of winter (December 21st): just in time for Christmas and our coldest Canadian months. (This offer is valid in our Winnipeg store only)

Indoor Fall Kayaking

No need to pack up the paddles as the temperature drops!  With kayak pool sessions this fall you can keep your skills fresh and even learn something new so you're ready to hit the water as soon as the ice goes out.  Learn the fundamentals of the kayak roll, work on your roll, practice partner rescues or bracing, get a freestyling introduction, or try an "intro to kayaking" to learn the basics and feel comfortable in the water.  Whatever your area of interest, pool sessions with WAV paddling and the Manitoba Whitewater Club can have you prepped and ready to wow your paddling partners (and yourself) next spring.

November 28, 2010 - WAV Intro to Sea Kayaking course - spots available NOW for this comprehensive introductory indoor pool course, including off-water and on-water sessions to get you ready for next paddling season. There is no pre-requisite, and payment includes national certification, registration with Paddle Canada, pool fees, kayak, paddle and skirt rental (will be transported to the pool for you).  Register today!
