Phil

Phil is an active sea kayaker and instructor who has been paddling for 20 years.

He was first certified as provincial flatwater kayaking instructor in 1997. Through a commitment to specialized training locally and on the West Coast, he completed the most advanced skill level, Paddle Canada Level 4 Sea Kayaking Skills Certification, in 2003. Phil is currently a nationally certified Sea Kayak Level 1 Kayaking Instructor and Flatwater Kayaking Instructor Trainer. Phil also co-chairs the Kayaking Instructional Committee of Paddle Manitoba and sits on the National Sea Kayaking Program Development Committee of Paddle Canada.

Phil's paddling adventures have taken him to the West Coast, to the Sea of Cortez, and the Arctic Ocean, where he worked with the late " kabloona" Victoria Jason.

Phil brings vast paddling experience, excellent teaching skills and a commitment to community and safety to team WAV. He is dedicated to furthering Sea Kayak / Touring in Manitoba, and is excited to be able to open this provinces rich world of kayak touring to WAV students.
