Well most of the ice is slowly coming off the lakes, the trails are starting to dry up and thoughts of paddling and lacing up those hiking boots are becoming reality again!
At Wilderness, we're just as excited as you and we have a lot of new toys for everyone to play with outdoors for the 2009 season. Here's a few samples of what we now have in stock:
Of course we have a ton more! Visit one of our stores today - to see a map to our Winnipeg and Thunder Bay store, click here.
You definitely don't want to miss this event. Held in Winnipeg from 9-5 pm both in the store and in the field across the street. Here's what you can expect at this event:

Have begun! Try out a canoe or kayak before you buy it to make sure it is the best fit and smoothest craft for you! Sign up sheets are available both in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. Contact us here for more information and to sign up! Don't forget that we rent a wide selection of canoes and kayaks in both stores.
Tim Wintoniw (Wpg) - "the new guy"...who already fits in like "the old guy". Brings a wealth of ski, canoe and general outdoor knowledge to the store. Tim is off in Tbay this week re-certing his Wilderness First Aid Course. He is heading up our canoe program through WAVpaddling and was a canoe guide with Churchill River Outfitters for the past few seasons.
Mila Gendron (Tbay) and Dawn Richardson (Wpg) are taking the Intro to Sea Kayaking Instructors course being held in Winnipeg this week. Look for them in the next little bit as course instructors with WAVpaddling in both Wpg and Tbay.
Scott Palmer (Wpg) is walking a little stiff legged from the first few hard core work-outs at Elite Performance Centers. Congrats on making the commitment to stay as fit as you can and truly live our philosophy of - "More than a Store...a Lifestyle!"
Rick Shone (Wpg) ran Hunt Lake trail last weekend and trail conditions were great! A bunch of us (Rick, Dawn, Scott) rode the Ingolf biking trail this weekend. We got wet and muddy and of course a few battle scars, but it was tons of fun!
