Manitou Rapids, Winnipeg River, Pine Falls MB
Manitou Rapids is a nice short set of features on the Winnipeg River, in Pine Falls, Manitoba. The eddy comes right up to the parking lot and is always big and friendly. Most of the fun features are river right off the top of the main eddy. There are a series of ledges that run river wide that create some fun features. At high water, the top holes are very violent and trashy. As the water drops, the wave-holes open up and become very friendly retentive play spots. Nice beginner waves just off the top of the eddy.
Manitou Rapids Directions
Directions to Pine Falls are pretty clear on a Provincial road map but here is the whole scoop: Take Hwy 59 North out of Winnipeg. Go East on 304 to Pine Falls. Go North on 11. Stay on 11. Drive a short distance looking for the Pine Falls Golf Course/Country Club. From 11, take the next Right after the Course Club House. You will be heading straight at the wood mill. At the main gates hang a right and take that road all the way down to the river. Park in the big lot and Manitou Rapids is on your right. There are no facilities at the site.
