Wild Adventurer of the Month

Snow in May?  Well, we are talking Manitoba.  But snow in May on your first canoe trip?  Now that's fodder for a great 'Wild Adventurer of the Month' story!  Our schadenfreude tale of the month comes from Kelvin of Winnipeg, Manitoba, who wins a free gift certificate for telling us about the weather mishaps the first time he headed out paddling.

"We arrived at the parking lot in the park around 830pm and began to unload our gear...in snow. There was about 2 inches on the ground before we even had a paddle in the water, and it was still coming down..."

Tim's Tip of the Month:

"When camping place a lighter in the pocket of every pair of pants and jacket you're bringing on trail. That way you are always prepared to start a great fire"
