Stand Up Paddle Boards

What would you say to a water-sport that improves balance and core strength while providing a fun and enjoyable paddle experience?  Sometimes described as the lovechild of surfing and kayaking, stand up paddling (SUP) is an emerging global sport with a vibrant and dedicated following.  Stand up paddle boards are lighter than a kayak or canoe, and easier to store.  There's no moving parts, it's simpler than windsurfing, and it only requires a few pieces of gear.  Your paddle experience can be as gentle or intense as you desire, and encompasses very little safety risk. 

Cheaper than sailing, requiring no special conditions like kiteboarding or windsurfing, and easy to pick up and learn, stand up paddling is a great way to get out on the water.  In the surf, on a river or on a lake, SUP is a great way to get started in water-sports, or a fun new adventure for the experienced paddler with lots of paddling opportunities in the Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario area
